LLNEN Meetings and Events

The Lincoln Laboratory New Employees Network (LLNEN) was designed not only to provide useful information but to also create a supportive network for recent hires that helps them grow and flourish in their new environment. Through LLNEN, employees can share experiences, strategies for success, and knowledge of the Laboratory and the local area.

LLNEN sponsors at least one monthly on- or off-site meeting for the entire Lincoln community. In addition, informal meetings are organized by members through the calendar on the LLNEN wiki (available on the Laboratory's internal website).

On the last Tuesday of every month, LLNEN offers a welcome "brown bag" luncheon at which new employees can meet other personnel and learn more about the social and professional networking opportunities available at the Laboratory.

LLNEN is also committed to facilitating involvement in community outreach. LLNEN members have volunteered to conduct future Science on Saturday demonstrations, and this spring LLNEN is coordinating Laboratory participation in Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that works to strengthen families and communities through affordable homeownership opportunities. LLNEN recruited volunteers in the summer for a New Hire Build Day in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell to build several homes in Bedford, Massachusetts.
