Overview

MIT Lincoln Laboratory, under sponsorship from the Information Systems and Cyber Security Directorate of OASD(R&E), has created the DoD Wireless Networking Library (WNL), a web-based repository of information used for accurate performance prediction in mobile wireless military networks.

The WNL includes both measurements and models to describe the RF channel, node mobility, and traffic between nodes in a mobile wireless tactical environment. Providing a common model reference set will support better definitions of the wireless tactical environment and enable better solutions in the development of tactical communications systems across a range of DoD programs.

WNL went live in February 2009 and consists of both a publicly visible web site (https://wnl.ll.mit.edu) and an internal content management system.  Access to the internal WNL site is restricted to DoD employees and DoD contractors.
