Stephen W. Boyer is a Technical Staff member of the Information Systems Technology Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory.

Prior to joining Lincoln Laboratory, Stephen worked at Caldera (currently SCO) designing, developing, and testing a variety of products ranging from modifications and enhancements the Java Virtual Machine to the development of diagnostic tools for a distributed software and configuration management system.

Stephen joined the Laboratory in 2001 focusing on computer and network security applications. Since joining the Laboratory, Stephen has contributed to or led research, development, and evaluation programs in next generation intrusion detection correlation techniques and architectures, attack graph vulnerability analysis, large-scale cyber situational awareness, and application automation for simulation and testing.

Stephen holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Science degree in System Design and Management from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Engineering and Sloan School of Management.
