Mr. Mike Cherepov is a member of technical staff with the Cyber System Assessments Group, which he joined in 2011. Currently he is working on automated discovery of software vulnerabilities. Prior to joining the Laboratory, he made technical and leadership contributions in areas ranging from host intrusion detection at Bell Labs, near the dawn of cyber-security, to host intrusion prevention at Cisco Systems, most recently.
In addition, Mike has been productive in areas ranging from real-time, embedded and massively parallel-processor operating systems to telecommunications switches and VPN applications. He co-authored several patents and papers on hard real-time operating systems and host security auditing tools.
Mr. Cherepov received B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science from Illinois Institute of Technology.
