Mr. Sean R. O'Melia joined Lincoln Laboratory as an associate member of the technical staff in 2008. He is engaged in supporting secure communications in tactical networks, including participation in the development of cryptographic key-management technology for small unmanned aircraft systems. Leveraging this experience, he has concentrated most recently on design of a key management architecture for a future satellite communications capability targeted to tactical environments. Mr. O’Melia was a program committee member for the Military Communications (MILCOM) Conference in 2012.
Mr. O’Melia received the BS and MS in computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in 2005 and 2007, respectively. His graduate research focused on instruction set extensions for enhancing the performance of symmetric-key cryptographic algorithms. Mr. O'Melia has been a member of IEEE since 2001 and of the IEEE Computer Society since 2006. He was inducted into the Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu honor societies in 2004.
