Dr. Nabil Schear is a staff member in the Cyber Systems and Technology Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Prior to joining MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 2011, he was a member of the technical staff at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 2004–2011. He was also an undergraduate research assistant at Los Alamos from 2001–2004.
Dr. Schear's research interests include intrusion detection and prevention, network traffic analysis, secure virtualization, and anonymous/covert communications systems. His current work focuses on designing and building next-generation secure service oriented architectures providing distributed provenance, access control, and intrusion tolerance.
Dr. Schear earned a B.S. in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004 and an M.S. degree in computer science from the University of California at San Diego in 2007. In 2011, he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Nikita Borisov.
