Dr. William Streilein is an Assistant Group Leader in the Cyber Systems and Technology Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where he manages research and development programs in cyber security.  His current research interests include the application of machine learning and modeling techniques to problems in cyber security.  Other areas of interest include the investigation and development of quantitative metrics for cyber security, the exploration of moving-target techniques to improve the resiliency of cyber and cyber-enabled systems and automated techniques for discovering how government missions map to cyber infrastructure.

Prior to joining the Cyber Systems and Technology Group, Dr. Streilein was a technical staff member in the Sensor Exploitation Group, where his research focused on the exploitation of multi-sensor fused imagery in interactive automatic learning and recognition environments.

Dr. Streilein holds a B.A. degree in mathematics from Austin College, an M.M. in electronic and computer music from the University of Miami, and a Ph.D. degree in cognitive and neural systems from Boston University. He is a senior member of the IEEE.  He has been at Lincoln Laboratory since 1998.
