Ms. Sharon Tam joined the Human Language Technology Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 2011, where she is currently working on cross-language information retrieval and illness tracking via social networking data.

Ms. Tam received a S.B. from MIT in computer science and engineering in 2010 and an M. Eng. in electrical engineering and computer science in 2011.  Her thesis consisted of the development of a mobile health-monitoring system.  This system was used to study people’s eating habits as they correlated with their mood and stress level, providing just-in-time interventions when it detected that the user might lapse into stress eating.
