Community Outreach

Robotics Outreach at Lincoln Laboratory (ROLL) has developed a full-immersion weekend robotics workshop for 9th and 10th grade children of Laboratory employees. These workshops consist of a weekend hands-on engineering challenge using Lego Mindstorms to build and program a working robot. Saturday activities focus on experimentation and prototyping, while Sunday offers time for robot finalization and competition. Workshops have been held in the summer and fall of 2008, and summer 2009. Further workshops will be planned based on lessons learned from each previous workshop, and will eventually be open to children in the local area.
