Abstract Terrain scattered jamming (hot clutter) has posed potential problems for jammer mitigating radars. Consequently, temporal cancellation techniques were developed and shown effective at mitigating traditional terrain scattering. However, the doublet jammer can defeat the single temporal channel cancellation technique by using two independent jammers placed one-half wavelength apart to cause spatial diversity of the jamming waveform. This presentation examines algorithms that were developed and applied to mitigate the doublet jammer under certain conditions. The algorithms were applied to doublet jammer data collected by MIT Lincoln Laboratory at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) using the RSTER radar.
