Jennifer T. Melot
Jennifer T. Melot joined the Human Language Technology Group in January 2013. She is currently developing pronunciation models for a language learning application and writing code to support work in information retrieval. In the past, she worked on software that helped users study individuals’ pronunciations and wrote code to support a program on keyword spotting in low-resource languages.
Ms. Melot received her SB degree from MIT in 2012, where she double majored in computer science and linguistics. For one of her senior projects, she investigated vowel perception by embedding artificial vowels she generated into minimal pairs and testing how people perceived the resulting words. She spent her summers as a developer working on an interactive math learning website.
