Dr. Glenn Carl is a technical staff member in the Cyber Systems and Operations Group within Lincoln Laboratory’s Cyber Security and Information Sciences Division.  He is responsible for leading programs that focus on architectures, performance evaluations, and security assessments of information enterprises and their underlying communication networks.

Between 2003-2006, he worked as a research assistant at the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State modeling denial-of-service attack detection and policy-based routing within large-scale networks.  From 1995 to 2003, he was employed as an electrical engineer at several telecommunication companies (e.g., Lucent Technologies), developing and testing high-speed data and voice networking equipment.

His research activities have included performing software re-use assessments, large-scale network modeling and performance analysis, design of experiments for agent-based military mission studies, and security assessments via network traffic analysis.  He has published conference, workshop, and journal articles in many of these areas for IEEE, ACM, and Elsevier.

Dr. Carl received his PhD and BS degrees in electrical engineering from Penn State University in 2008 and 1991, respectively, and a MS in electrical engineering from Wilkes University in 1995.
