Dr. R. Jordan Crouser is a recent addition to the Cyber Analytics and Decision Systems Group, bringing expertise in the areas of visual analytics, information visualization and human-machine collaboration.

Dr. Crouser joined Lincoln Laboratory as a visiting graduate scholar in 2012, and returned to the Cyber Analytics and Decision Systems Group as a member of the technical staff in July 2013. During this time, he has developed powerful visual analytics tools for use in text mining and geospatial applications for global situational awareness. In addition, he co-leads the Visual Analytics Community at Lincoln Laboratory, an interdisciplinary working group, to promote collaboration and the adoption of best practices in visual analytics and information visualization across the Laboratory through education, skill-sharing, invited speaker series, and workshops.

He has made technical contributions and taken leadership roles in research programs in visual analytics, visualization theory, human-computer interaction, educational technology, and human computation. He has published numerous technical papers in these areas, as well as authored a chapter in the Handbook of Human Computation (to be released in 2014).

Dr. Crouser earned a BA degree in mathematics from Smith College in 2008, an MS degree in computer science from Tufts University in 2010, and a PhD degree in computer science from Tufts University in 2013.
