Thomas Hobson joined the Cyber Security and Information Sciences Division at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 2011. His research interests include systems security, network security, and software security. He currently leads a program that is developing and evaluating moving target technologies, including operating system and software-defined networking-based defenses.

Prior to joining the Laboratory, he worked as a consultant for financial, medical, and professional services organizations. His consulting work has included investigating next-generation architectures for secure remote banking and developing software to support credit risk assessment during the financial turmoil of 2008.

Mr. Hobson completed an MS degree in information security from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS degree in computer information systems from Bentley University. During his studies, he conducted research in the areas of vulnerability discovery and clean-slate Internet technologies.
