Dr. Michaeel M. Kazi is a member of the technical staff of the Human Language Technology Group. He currently spends his time working on machine translation, using statistical methods and deep learning techniques, in which he is especially interested. He began working in this field during an internship under the supervision of Wade Shen at MIT Lincoln Laboratory.

Prior to joining Lincoln Laboratory, Dr. Kazi taught and tutored students in numerical analysis, linear algebra, calculus, and various programming languages. He also completed internships as a software developer at Harris Corporation and at RAVE LLC, a small nanotechnology startup.

Dr. Kazi holds a BS degree in computer science and applied mathematics from Florida Institute of Technology and a PhD degree in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.
