Dr. Carl Quillen is currently a technical staff member in the Human Language Technology Group at Lincoln Laboratory where he focuses on developing and applying speech-recognition technology, while also working on Speaker-Identification and clustering techniques.

Following postdoctoral work at Brown University, he joined the Speech and Language department at Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN) Corporation in 1996, where he concentrated on software efforts while gradually gaining competence in the area of Speech Recognition with the help of mentors, including Herb Gish.

Quillen received his AB degree from Harvard University in 1987 and a PhD degree from Brown University in 1995. Dr. Quillen's graduate work was in the area of computational fluid mechanics.
