Dr. Warren W. Smith is a technical staff member in the Secure Resilient Systems and Technology Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Before joining the Laboratory in 2015, he was on staff at the Texas Advanced Computing Center at the University of Texas from 2005. Prior to his tenure at Texas Advanced Computing Center, he worked at the NASA Ames Research Center and was a graduate student working at Argonne National Laboratory.

Dr. Smith performs research in the areas of distributed systems, cloud computing, and data analytics. He focuses on creating scalable and resilient infrastructure and has investigated topics such as scheduling and resource management, information and monitoring systems, performance prediction, and data provenance.

Dr. Smith earned a BS degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Johns Hopkins University in 1992, an MS degree in computer science from the Johns Hopkins University in 1992, an MS degree in electrical and computer engineering from Northwestern University in 1995, and a PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from Northwestern University in 1999.
