David J. Weller-Fahy is a technical staff member in the Cyber Analytics and Decision Systems Group. He joined Lincoln Laboratory in September of 2014 and works on programs related to security metrics, automated cyber mission mapping, and characterization and detection of cyber malicious content in social media.  His research interests include machine-learning applications to language problems; programming languages; computer-to-computer communications protocols; and computer and network security.

Prior to joining the Laboratory, Mr. Weller-Fahy served in the United States Air Force for 22 years as an Airborne Radar Technician.

Mr. Weller-Fahy holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois Springfield and a master’s degree in cyber operations from the Air Force Institute of Technology. For exceptional academic achievement and outstanding research during his graduate studies, he received the Secretary James G. Roche Award.  His thesis focused on evaluating studying the correlation between differences in anomaly detection performance and network intrusion dataset similarity.
