Sophia Yakoubov is an associate staff member in the Secure Resilient Systems and Technology Group. She joined MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 2011. Her main research interest is cryptography. Her current work is related to secure and efficient multiparty computation and database search.

Ms. Yakoubov graduated from MIT in 2011 with a BS degree in mathematics with computer science. She is currently pursuing her graduate studies in cryptography at Boston University through the Lincoln Scholars program, under the advisement of Professor Leo Reyzin. In January 2016, she completed her master’s degree on the topic of cryptographic accumulators, which are compact data structures that support proofs of set membership. She is currently working on a doctoral degree.

Ms. Yakoubov contributes to several of the Lincoln Laboratory outreach programs and events. She developed the LLCipher summer cryptography program for high school students and taught it in 2015 and 2016.
