Rodolfo Salas

Dr. Rodolfo SalasDr. Rodolfo Salas recently joined the Laboratory as a technical staff member in the Advanced Imager Technology Group. He is pursuing research in the design, growth, and characterization of infrared optoelectronic devices.

Prior to coming to the Laboratory, Dr. Salas worked at the Microelectronics Research Center at The University of Texas at Austin where he investigated the growth and characterization of rare-earth arsenide nanocomposite materials for terahertz generation, GaSb based mid-IR lasers, and rare-earth arsenide based tunnel junctions for optoelectronic applications, all grown by molecular beam epitaxy.

Dr. Salas has authored and coauthored numerous papers and conference presentations in the fields of optoelectronics and material science. He is currently working on MWIR and LWIR imaging devices and detectors.

Dr. Salas received his BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Oklahoma and his PhD in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
