Do what makes you feel joyful, and maximize time with family and friends. More importantly, be patient and kind — it goes a long way.

My journey to the Laboratory

I managed security programs for the Missile Defense Agency and managed programs for flight tests at the Reagan Test Site. In 2015, I was hired as the Site Administrator and Facility Security Officer (FSO) for the Laboratory’s Kwajalein Field Site and was promoted to Site Security Manager and Business Operations Manager in 2018. I now support the Kwajalein and Huntsville Field Sites as a Site Security Representative.

What I like about my job

I like knowing that the work we do significantly impacts research and national security. As a Business Operations Manager on Kwajalein, I supported not only the technical staff, but also their families settling into the community or during emergency situations. As a result, I was honored with an MIT Excellence Award for Outstanding Contributor.

A unique fact about me

I lived on Kwajalein for 8 years. Kwajalein is one of the most unique places to live in the entire world. It’s as if they turned back the clock to a slow 1950s community. Not too many people can say their backyard was the world’s largest lagoon. I went to the beach most weekends; became quite the fisherman; caught and ate the freshest fish for sushi or fish taco dinner; and rode a bike to work every day. I met lifelong friends that are now my Kwajalein family.

My goals

Personally, I would love to go to culinary school and live in different countries to learn their culinary culture (first France then Italy). Professionally, I would like to buckle down, study, and become Security Professional Education Development certified.
