I love being able to come to work knowing I’m enabling top-tier research to thrive in an increasingly secure way.

My journey to Lincoln Laboratory

I have a BS degree in criminal justice, an MS degree in criminology, and a graduate certificate in security & resilience studies, all from Northeastern University. I also have an Intelligence Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security+ Certification. I was introduced to the field of InfoSec when I came to the Laboratory as a L.E.A.D student (co-op intern) in 2020. I took on a second co-op at the Laboratory, this time as an information systems security officer, which definitely jumpstarted my career. It proved to be the perfect pathway for what I wanted to do, and I’ve been working with my fabulous team supporting the Air, Missile, and Maritime Defense Technology Division since 2021. Prior to my co-ops, I worked on background check and fraud investigations at a financial services company.

What my role entails

I perform audit log reviews, update antivirus files, and analyze vulnerability scan data on a weekly basis. I am responsible for maintaining and improving the security posture of a set of systems on multiple networks. My team services hundreds of users and systems while ensuring our networks are secure.

What I like about my job

I love the people, and I enjoy the service side of cybersecurity. Not only is my team phenomenal, but also the systems administrators, tech staff, and leadership. They are all very supportive, personally and professionally. Our harmony is unmatched. My manager trusts me to accomplish my tasks, and I appreciate the independence of my role. While my immediate group collaborates to address unique problems and assist the Security Services Department staff, my day-to-day is what I make it.
