Being a part of such a great team is the first thing I brag about when talking about my job.

My journey to the Security Services Department

I earned a BS degree in computer networks and cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus while I was in the U.S. Army and worked in Defensive Cyber Operations. I recently attained a graduate certificate in incident response from the SANS Technology Institute. Prior to the Laboratory, I worked at Raytheon as an information systems security manager.

What I do at the Laboratory

Our mission in the Forensic Analysis Center (FAC) and my role as a FAC analyst is to manage enterprise risk in support of the protection of sensitive and classified information by performing assessments, audits, and forensic investigations.

What I like about my job

Being a part of such a great team is the first thing I brag about when talking about my job. I really enjoy the unique challenges that working in digital forensics brings. It’s super fun for me, as it’s like solving a digital puzzle to determine what has happened on the network or on a computer. You get to be a digital detective! It involves a lot of critical thinking and problem solving. My group’s ability to be so successful is a result of all of us working together and helping one another. I take pride in helping my team members.

My advice to others

Don’t worry too much about what you can’t control. Just do your best and try to make a positive difference where you can.
