Biotechnology and Resilient Human Systems Workshop 2024

MIT Lincoln Laboratory

This two-day, in-person event will feature sessions highlighting critical national needs and state-of-the-art research and development aimed at building resilience to a range of threats to national security plus human health and well-being. This workshop will bring together government leaders, military, national technology experts, private industry and health partners, and federal/regional stakeholders to discuss key challenges and potential solutions centered around the following topics:

Developing an Integrated National Biosurveillance System

  • Operational Perspectives on the Future of Biosurveillance
  • Forecasting, Characterization, & Detection in an Emerging Threat Landscape
  • Analytics & Decision Support for Real-time Health Surveillance

Preparing Military and Civilian Medical Systems for Future Challenges

  • Preparing Military Health Systems for Large-Scale Combat Operations
  • Enhancing Health Resilience & Human Performance

A key theme for this year’s workshop is to explore the federal government’s future operational challenges and identify potential technology solutions and actionable next steps to close capability gaps. To discuss these topics in more depth, the workshop will host a cross-stakeholder panels to discuss National Disaster Medical System Response for Large-Scale Combat Operations.
