Biotechnology and Resilient Human Systems Workshop 2026

MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Lexington, Massachusetts

You are invited to join the fourth annual Biotechnology and Resilient Human Systems Workshop, to be held June 2–3, 2026. This year’s theme will be Biodeterrence and Bioenabled Solutions. This two-day, in-person workshop will feature keynote presentations from leaders across the U.S. Government highlighting strategic national security challenges and opportunities. Presentations from national experts will highlight the rapidly evolving technology and threat landscape, the advanced technologies and architectures required to build threat deterrence, and the potential of biotechnology to fill critical national security gaps and create economic resilience. A technical exchange and networking reception will exhibit state-of-the-art research and innovations from the rapidly expanding biotechnology ecosystem and bring together government and industry leaders, national security experts, UARCs, FFRDCS, national labs, entrepreneurs, and academic innovators to help solidify the partnerships needed to solve critical national security challenges.

Workshop sessions include:

  • Biothreats and Attribution (Held at the TS/SCI level)
    • Panel: Strengthening Biodeterrence through Threat Forecasting, Awareness and Attribution
  • Biosurveillance and Threat Characterization (Unclassified)
  • Synergistic Development of Biotechnology and AI for Rapid Medical Interventions (Unclassified)
    • Panel: Unlocking the Unlimited Potential of AI and Autonomous Labs
  • Biotechnology Based Approaches to Closing National Security Gaps (Unclassified)
    • Panel: Connecting Biotechnology Solutions to Critical National Security Challenges

This in-person event will be hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, MA. We will be asking all attendees to register in advance. Specific security requirements will need to be met for the morning of June 2nd. All other sessions will be open to U.S. Government and their contractors.
