Kerberos, Atlas, and MIT ID Numbers:

On your first day, you’ll receive detailed instructions to set up your MIT Kerberos account. This account provides access to the MIT Atlas portal and typically takes up to 48 hours to activate.

Once you have access to Atlas, you can:

• Sign up for direct deposit
• Choose your health insurance benefits (student employees are not benefits eligible)
• View or print your paystub
• View or print your W2
• Enter your tax-withdrawal information

Your MIT Kerberos account serves as your secure digital identity for the MIT campus and is required to access Atlas Self-Service and other certificate-protected systems. It is separate from your Lincoln Laboratory credentials and should have a different password.
