Through collaborations with universities and businesses, the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science (GEM) provides support to students from underrepresented groups who are seeking advanced degrees in science and engineering fields. Lincoln Laboratory, as a GEM partner, offers paid summer internships to students who are pursuing graduate studies through the GEM Fellowship Program, which is committed to increasing the number of science and engineering students nationwide. Lincoln Laboratory Director Eric Evans serves as president of the Executive Committee of the National GEM Consortium.
