The Girls Who Build Cameras course is an introduction to camera physics and technology.

The Girls Who Build Cameras course covers how to program a Raspberry Pi camera and design Instagram-like filters.
Students are given an overview of the technology behind making a digital camera work, from the image sensor to the lens. The activities include disassembling old cameras to see how they work, building a Raspberry Pi camera, and programming the camera to take a picture. Students are provided with assembly instructions, camera instructions, camera code, and programming instructions.

The online course gives instructions on making working cameras such as these made during the onsite Girls Who Build Cameras workshop.
