Joint Advisory Committee
Under the terms of Lincoln Laboratory's charter as a Department of Defense federally funded R&D center, all R&D programs undertaken by the Laboratory must be approved by the Joint Advisory Committee (JAC), which is composed of representatives from various branches of the Department of Defense. The JAC, chaired by the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, oversees the Laboratory's adherence to FFRDC policies and annually reviews the Laboratory’s current five-year plan for technology development programs.
