Alan R. Szmyt

Alan Szmyt is an associate staff member in the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Systems Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He has a BS degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and is currently pursuing his MS degree in software development at Boston University.

Szmyt joined Lincoln Laboratory in 2019 and has been a part of a variety of different software project efforts as a software engineer for the HADR team. His current focus is designing language-agnostic software architectures, applying creativity to problem-solving techniques, and exploring effective methodologies on developing software that provides value for people in the humanitarian space. In his spare time, he enjoys producing electronic music and playing video games with his family and friends.
