Jonathan M. Richardson

Dr. Jonathan M. Richardson is a technical staff member in the Advanced Imager Technology Group. Over the past 10+ years, he has led programs on chemical and biological detection and remediation, explosives detection, radiation detection, and medical imaging. He has a broad technical background in lasers, optics, photonics, spectrometry, radiation/nuclear science and technology, and aerosol science and technology. His interests are primarily in development and application of novel measurement methods and instrumentation. He has participated in a variety of Department of Defense field demonstrations and measurement campaigns.

Richardson previously worked in the private sector developing novel technologies for medical and other applications. He has coauthored numerous publications, conference proceedings, and government reports.

Richardson received his BA in physics and mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania and his PhD in physics from Harvard University. He did both his thesis and postdoctoral work at the National Institute of Standards and Technology Center for Neutron Research in Gaithersburg, MD.
