Benjamin Davies is a seasoned expert in humanitarian operations and policy with over a decade of experience leading teams specializing in disaster research, education, and operations. As a specialist in the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Systems Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, he both leads and supports projects by producing cross-disciplinary research and applied technological solutions to improve multi-sectoral responses to public health and humanitarian emergencies. This work builds on his experience collaborating with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), as well as academic, government, and military organizations on a variety of challenges related to response planning and risk mitigation during disasters and complex emergencies.

Davies’s ongoing research for both domestic and international communities focuses on improving humanitarian safety during conflict, evaluating emerging technologies for humanitarian applications, and behavioral responding to early warning and risk communication. Benjamin holds an MS degree in NGO leadership and management from The University of Pennsylvania and a BA degree in philosophy and sociology from St. Lawrence University.
