Dr. Brian C. Lee is an assistant leader of the Counter–Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Systems Group, which focuses on WMD threat understanding, forecasting, detection, response, mitigation, medical countermeasures, and remediation. The group focuses on pragmatic and cost-effective WMD defense architectures for the Department of War, Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, intelligence agencies, first responders, and critical stakeholders across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. Lee has been working in the counter-WMD mission since 2014 on topics including improvised explosive device (IED) detection, future threat red teaming, detection of chemical/biological threats, AI/ML algorithms, aerosol science, and systems analysis.

Lee received a BS degree in engineering science and physics, an MS degree in physics, and a PhD in physics from Colorado State University.
