The Global Hawk remotely piloted aircraft is an example of an Air Force ISR asset that is evaluated by the ISR Systems & Architectures Group to understand existing capabilities and future needs.

ISR Systems and Architectures

We perform analysis and experimentation to develop concepts for filling critical gaps in Department of Defense (DoD) intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and tactical capabilities. Our analyses cover a broad range of technologies, including sensors, aircraft, satellites, communication systems, navigation solutions, and data exploitation. By leveraging a combination of these technologies, we develop a complex system-of-systems architecture that can provide a needed mission capability. Our analyses may lead to experimental test campaigns to verify the results of our modeling and often generate opportunities for prototyping hardware and software. The briefings we frequently present to senior leaders from the military services and government agencies help inform critical decisions about future acquisitions of ISR and tactical systems.
