Janusz J. Majewski-Technical Staff

Dr. Janusz J. Majewski is a member of the technical staff in the RF Technology Group, where he is involved in developing the concept and design of RF subsystems that range from millimeter-wave imagers to electronic support receivers. Prior to joining the RF Technology Group, he was part of the Advanced Capabilities Systems Group, where he was involved in the rapid development and field deployment of several prototype systems.

Prior to joining Lincoln Laboratory in 2004, Majewski worked in industry for more than 23 years.  During this time, he worked in solid-state microwave amplifier design for EPSCO Inc. and in microwave and millimeter-wave antenna interfaces. He became the chief technology officer of Sage Laboratories and its subsidiary, Sage Laboratories Active MIcrowave Inc. Later, he led the development of the second Federal Communications Commission (FCC)-certified 60-GHz digital point-to-point radio link as part of Sierra Network.

Majewski is a member of the IEEE and has published 17 scientific and technical papers. He is a coauthor of two patents. In his years in industry, he received five personal and group awards for engineering excellence and customer support (NASA, TRW, and Hughes). While at Lincoln Laboratory, he has been on five teams that received MIT Lincoln Laboratory Team Awards and received a personal recognition letter from the Secretary of the Air Force.

Janusz Majewski received his BSEE and MSEE degrees in 1970 and 1972, respectively, from Technology University of Warsaw, and a PhD degree in the physics of the III-V compounds of semiconductor materials (indium antimonide, gallium arsenide, and indium phosphide) from the Polish Academy of Sciences.
