Reed Irion

Reed A. Irion is a member of the technical staff in the RF Technology Group.  He is currently working on an experimental Ka band radar system. Previous efforts include naval ELINT hardware, missile range evaluation, and compressive receivers. He has provided technical support to the printable dielectric and low-cost terahertz atomic clock efforts at the Laboratory. His interests include RF filters, frequency synthesis, radar systems and rapid production of RF mechanical elements.

Prior to joining the Laboratory, Irion worked in a variety of industry positions. He won the Individual Distinguished Performance Award while at Draper Laboratory for the development of a miniaturized millimeter wave radar. He has also worked at Wenzel Associates, where he garnered an expertise in low phase noise frequency synthesis. Other employment includes National Instruments and Andrew Corporation.

Irion holds BSEE and MSEE degrees from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.
