Dennis J. Keane

Dennis J. Keane is a principal staff member in the Air, Missile, and Maritime Defense Technology Division at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Keane joined the Laboratory in 1980 as a member of the technical staff in the Cruise Missile Technology Group. He was promoted to assistant leader in 1985 and associate leader of the Phenomenology and Testing Group in 1987. In these roles and upon being promoted in 1992 to leader of the Air Defense Techniques Group in the Air Defense Technology Division, he contributed to several programs involving low-observable and counter-low-observable technologies.

In 1995, he transferred to the Radar Measurements Division and was assigned to Washington, D.C., as the director of the POET consortium of federally funded research centers that provided technical support to the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization. He then accepted an Intergovernment Personnel Act (IPA) assignment to the Pentagon as Director of Missile Warfare within the Office of the Under Secretary for Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics/Strategic and Tactical Systems.

In recognition of his service to the Department of Defense, Keane received the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service. Upon returning from his site assignment in 1998, he became assistant head in the Radar Measurements Division. Keane holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from MIT and an MBA degree from the University of Southern California.
