Jeffrey D. Arena

Jeffrey D. Arena is an associate staff member in the Artificial Intelligence Technology Group. His interests involve end-to-end machine learning pipeline design, rigorous machine learning software development methodology, reinforcement learning for tactics discovery, and machine learning education. Arena's early work at the Laboratory was in the ISR and Tactical Systems Division and comprised modeling, simulation, and data analysis. Seeing the natural synergy between a data-rich environment, the versatility of machine learning approaches, and the power of scalable software, he turned his focus to software development for machine learning. In his current role, he seeks to implement intuitive and scalable software solutions to the classes of problems where machine-learning-enabled approaches could be most impactful.
