Joseph A. Muñoz

Dr. Joseph A. Muñoz is an assistant leader of the Systems and Architectures Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. In this role, he leads work to provide rigorous, digestible, and actionable technical analysis to inform senior leaders and guide technology development in defense of the nation. Since joining the Laboratory in 2015 as a technical staff member in the Systems and Architectures Group, he has contributed to a variety of mission areas, including missile defense, undersea systems, gray-zone operations, Arctic sensing, and climate change. Muñoz previously conducted postdoctoral research in astrophysics at UC Santa Barbara and UCLA. He holds an AB degree from Princeton University and a PhD degree from Harvard University, both in astrophysics.
