Madhavi Seetamraju

Madhavi Seetamraju is the assistant leader of the Interceptor and Sensor Technology Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Since assuming this role in 2019, she has been leading the group’s hypersonic interceptor technology portfolio. Seetamraju started her career at the Laboratory in 2011 as a technical staff member, first in the Active Optical Systems Group and later in Advanced Capabilities and Technologies Group, mainly developing novel optical techniques for remote sensing and imaging applications. In 2017, she was promoted to assistant leader of the Advanced Concepts and Technologies Group.

Seetamraju received BS, MS, and PhD degrees in physics from the University of Madras, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and Indian Institute of Science, respectively. Before immigrating to the United States in 2001, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Tokyo. She completed a second postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California and worked as a staff scientist and then senior scientist at Radiation Monitoring Devices, a Dynasil company, for six years prior to joining the Laboratory.
