Scott J. Mancini

Scott J. Mancini serves as the Laboratory's Acting Chief Information Security Officer. He is responsible for the Laboratory's cybersecurity program, providing leadership and strategic direction regarding cybersecurity compliance, risk management, cyber forensic analysis, and incident response activities. He has served in a variety of roles since joining the Laboratory, including as an information system security manager, a compliance and forensics team leader, an information security manager, and a deputy chief security officer/senior information security officer. Mancini joined the Laboratory in 2008 after a 21-year career in law enforcement where he led cybercrime and computer forensic operations.

Mancini oversees the Laboratory's IT system Assessment and Authorization and Cybersecurity Risk Management Program. He is an advisory member of the Advanced Cyber Security Center and has served as co-chair for the FFRDC/UARC IT Security Working Group. Mancini leads Laboratory participation in the National Defense Information Sharing and Analysis Center, as well as in the Department of Defense's Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Program. He is actively involved in several national cybersecurity working groups and is the primary Laboratory point of contact for cybersecurity matters on Hanscom Air Force Base.

Mancini obtained an MS degree in information assurance from Northeastern University and a BS degree in administration of justice from Roger Williams University. He is a graduate of the MOR Ivy+ IT Leadership Program and previously taught classes on decision making in critical infrastructure protection at Northeastern University.

Mancini is also a United States Army veteran.
